Changes to Crypto Funding on AngelList
- Effective July 31st 2026, AngelList will no longer support investment funding via cryptocurrency. Our third-party crypto payments provider is discontinuing its service and, as a result, the option to fund investments with digital assets (USDC, USDT, DAI, and ETH) will be paused across the platform until further notice.
What is changing?
- The ability to fund investments with cryptocurrency is being disabled. Crypto will no longer be a funding option for new investments, capital calls, or rolling fund subscriptions. All other funding methods will remain unaffected (ACH and Wire).
- This change applies to all funding methods on the platform, including fund closings, rolling fund subscriptions, and funding-account deposits.
When does this take effect?
- Crypto funding will be disabled on July 31, 2026. Any investment funded on or before that date is unaffected and requires no action from you. After that date, please use ACH or wire for all funding.
How do I fund my investments now?
- You can find step-by-step guidance on funding your investments via ACH or wire in the AngelList Help Center.
I have an open capital commitment I was funding with crypto – what should I do?
- If you have unfunded capital commitments you intended to fund with crypto, you can either:
- Transfer the full amount of your outstanding commitments in crypto to your AngelList account by July 30th, 2026. Your capital will remain in your AngelList account and can be automatically applied to future capital calls or investments as they become due.
- Fund future capital calls and investments via wire or ACH. We recommend initiating your transfers with sufficient lead time to meet any funding deadline, as wires, in particular, can take several business days.
- If you are concerned about meeting a specific deadline, please contact us using the details below and we will help you find a path forward.
Will crypto funding come back?
- We are actively evaluating options to support digital-asset funding through a new provider. We do not have a timeline to share yet, but we will update this article and notify affected investors directly if and when crypto funding becomes available again.
I am an international investor and wires are difficult for me
- We understand that wires can be slower or more costly for investors outside the United States. If you anticipate difficulty funding an upcoming commitment by wire, please reach out to us as early as possible so we can work with you on the best available option.
Who do I contact for help?
- If you have questions about this change, an upcoming funding deadline, or which funding method is right for you, please reach out to lp-relations@angellist.com. Our team is prioritizing questions related to this transition.
