What does it mean when an LP has signed, but not completed their investment?

If an LP has signed for but not completed the investment, it means we are waiting on their identity verification, their accreditation verification, or their actual funds.

When an LP invests through a specific investment entity for the first time, we put them through a KYC (Know Your Customer) process. The LP must provide personal information to prove who they are, and potentially upload ID documents. Until this is complete, their investment will not go through. LPs who are still pending full identity verification will have a yellow "Pending KYC" badge next to their name in the Signed column.

If your fund is a 506(c) fund, LPs are required to provide evidence that they are accredited investors. Until this is complete, their investment will not go through. If your fund is a 506(b) fund, this restriction will not apply.

For LPs without the Pending KYC badge but in the signed column, we are simply waiting on their funds to reach us. For LPs who chose to fund their account via ACH at signing, we automatically pull funds from their account. However, this may take a few days to reach out account. For LPs who chose to fund their investment via wire, they may have wired already, but we're waiting for the wire to complete. Or, the LP may not have sent their wire yet. AngelList handles reminding your LPs to send wires as your deal deadline approaches.
