Inviting limited partners (LPs) to become part of your network on AngelList can be achieved through personalized invites or custom invite links. Inviting investors adds them to your LP network, allowing them to be easily invited to investment opportunities.
Via email (recommended):
- Navigate to the Invite Tab of your LP Network page.
- Click on “Email Invite.”
- Enter the LP’s email address and an optional personal message.
- Set defaults for carry, valuation visibility, and private tags or notes.
- Choose to invite them to all raising SPVs or to your venture fund (if applicable).
The investor will receive an email invitation. Upon acceptance, they are automatically added to your network without needing to complete the AngelList Investor Application.
Via private link:
- Navigate to the Invite Tab of your LP Network section.
- Copy your private invite link.
- Share this link with potential LPs through your preferred communication method.
Additional considerations:
- Security: Personalized invites are more secure, as each LP receives a unique link. Custom invite links, while convenient, should be used cautiously to prevent unauthorized access.
- Compliance: When sharing invite links, ensure they are sent only to LPs with whom you have a substantive pre-existing relationship to comply with securities laws.
- Customization: You can set different investment minimums, carry percentages, and other terms for individual LPs by creating custom invite links.
