How does valuation visibility work?

General Partners on AngelList have the option to share individual investment valuation and/or fund-level valuation details with their Limited Partners. To manage visibility settings so your LPs can view specific deals or fund valuations within their portfolio, please follow the simple steps below:

  1. Log in to the AngelList Lead Dashboard: Navigate to AngelList and sign in with your GP credentials.
  2. Navigate to the Venture Firm Settings Tab: From the main menu, select Venture Firm Settings, then navigate to the Valuation Data tab, which can be accessed directly here.
    • LP Defaults: To set valuation visibility individually by LP across your whole LP network, navigate to the LP Defaults tab. You can enable “Valuations” and/or individual “Fund investments” visibility via the toggles in the table for each LP who has invested in your syndicate or fund.

Note: Enabling “Valuations” will turn on vehicle-level values for all SPVs and Funds in which the LP has invested in. Enabling “Fund Investments” ensures that the LP can also see each deal in the fund and its valuation.

  • SPV Settings/Venture Fund Settings: These tabs allow you to enable valuation visibility for specific SPVs and/or funds only. SPV- and fund-level settings override any LP default settings.

How LPs will see this information

Once you have updated your visibility settings:

  • Visible Fund Investments: LPs will see each investment and corresponding valuations in their dashboard.
  • Hidden Fund Investments: Only aggregated fund amounts will appear, with no itemized details for hidden investments.
  • No visibility: LPs will see neither fund-level nor investment-level data.
