If the fund is still actively fundraising, you may be able to increase your investment or commitment amount. The process depends on how far along you are with your original investment. Start by determining which scenario applies to your situation, and follow the steps outlined below:
If You Are Unfunded and Unclosed – Meaning you haven’t sent any money yet and likely just recently completed your original commitment.
-
- Navigate to your Commitments page.
- Select the fund you want to adjust up.
- On the next steps page, click “Edit Investment” in the top-right corner.
- In the pop-up window, choose “Adjust amount or cancel.”
- Enter your new total investment amount and click “Save.”
- Note that your investment will not be considered complete until the full amount is received.
If You Are Funded and Unclosed – Meaning you’ve sent money, but the fund hasn’t officially closed you into the ledger (e.g., no initial close, quarter hasn’t ended, or back-end processing isn’t complete).
-
- Navigate to your Portfolio Dashboard.
- Locate your completed investment and select the fund you want to adjust.
- Above your original investment, click “Adjust commitment.”
- Follow the prompts to update your investment amount.
If You Are Funded and Closed – For venture funds only, some time after your original investment was made.
-
- Process a new commitment by locating the original invite link from the fund lead or requesting a follow-on investment link.
- Use the personalized invite link to click “Invest Now” and enter the additional amount you’d like to commit.
- Select the same investment entity you used for your initial commitment.
- E-sign at the bottom of the page, and you’ll be navigated to a page where you can download the new capital call with wire instructions.
- Use these instructions to complete your additional investment.
