Investors can fund their investments on AngelList using USDC or DAI. However, there are some important restrictions of note: AngelList only accepts USDC or DAI sent on the Ethereum Mainnet. Sending any other digital asset (e.g., USDT, BNB, ETH) or using other blockchain networks (e.g., Polygon, Arbitrum) will result in the permanent loss of your funds. AngelList cannot receive these assets or return them to you.
Note: If you see a message stating that you are “unable to access crypto” at this time, it means your location is in a restricted geography. For restricted countries related to USDC, you can review the list here: Restricted Jurisdictions.
Transaction Fees:
AngelList does not charge a processing fee for commitments funded in USDC. You’ll receive full credit for the amount sent. While minor slippage may occur when converting USDC to fiat or crypto, any associated costs are absorbed by AngelList and not passed on to you.
Custody and Processing:
Layer2 (via BitGo) will custody your USDC, handle the exchange, and transfer USD to your AngelList account. AngelList will not own or control your crypto. Please note that crypto withdrawals are not supported on AngelList – AngelList does not support USDC withdrawals. All withdrawals and refunds are processed in USD only.
Steps to Fund with USDC:
- Select “Crypto” When Investing: Before completing the online subscription process and e-signing, select the Crypto option as your payment method instead of Wire or ACH.
- View USDC Instructions: After e-signing, click “View USDC Instructions” on the Next Steps screen.
- Agree to Terms: Confirm your understanding and accept the terms of funding via USDC.
- Send USDC: Send USDC via Ethereum Mainnet to the provided address (unique to your investment). Confirm in your AngelList account that you’ve sent the funds.
- Receive Confirmation: You’ll get an email with the transaction hash and a link to Etherscan. Funds should appear in your AngelList account within 3 business days.
Please ensure that you have deposited enough funds to fully cover your outstanding capital call. If you are receiving an error, you may need to switch the funding method for your investment.
