AngelList has partnered with Plaid to offer a secure, efficient way to link US bank accounts. Before connecting, please disconnect any VPN, as this can cause errors.
Option 1: Add Your Bank Account by Selecting Your Bank (Recommended)
This is the quickest and most straightforward way to connect your bank.
- Go to your AngelList Funding Accounts page.
- Click “Add Bank Account” under “ACH Bank Accounts.”
- Search for and select your bank.
- Log in to your bank through Plaid.
- Choose the account you wish to connect and confirm.
Your bank account is now linked, and you can initiate ACH transfers and withdrawals.
Option 2: Add Your Bank Account Manually Using Routing and Account Numbers
This option requires manual verification and can take a few business days.
- Go to “Add Bank Account” under “ACH Bank Accounts.”
- Scroll down to “Link with account numbers” and follow the steps.
- Enter your routing and account numbers, confirm them, and specify the account type.
- Provide the account name, authorize ACH deposits and withdrawals, and confirm.
Plaid will make two small deposits into your account. Once received, return to your Funding Accounts page, select “Verify Microdeposit Amounts,” and enter the deposit amounts to complete verification. Your account is now linked for ACH transactions.
Why Plaid?
AngelList now uses Plaid to meet NACHA’s (National Automated Clearing House Association) new WEB Debit Account Validation Rule, which requires ACH originators to verify account legitimacy before transactions. This partnership with Plaid allows AngelList to comply with these requirements while enhancing security. Users will be prompted to log in through Plaid for secure authorization when linking new accounts.
