Fund leads can choose to collect all committed capital from investors upfront or allow them to split it into multiple transfers. When the lead requests an additional installment, it’s known as a “capital call.” Each capital call includes key details like the amount due, the deadline to transfer funds, and wire instructions. LPs can access capital call notices in three ways:
- Immediately after e-signing: If the fund already has an active capital call at the time of your commitment, you'll be able to click "Downloadable PDF Notice" on the "Next Steps" page after you e-sign for an investment.
- Via email: When the fund lead initiates a new capital call, you’ll receive an email from AngelList with the latest call notice attached.
- On your LP dashboard: From your portfolio homepage, select a specific investment, click “View Details,” and navigate to the “Documents” section to access past capital calls.
If you see an “Action Required” banner on your dashboard, it’s likely that your AngelList account does not have enough funds to complete a capital call. Please navigate to your Funding Accounts page to initiate an ACH transfer or view wire instructions to fund your account.
Please note that AngelList funds use the Networked Banking architecture, meaning each LP has unique payment instructions generated after registering their entity on AngelList. Capital calls, including wiring instructions, are only available once the LP’s commitment to the fund is signed and recorded.
If you have questions about the deadline or amount, you can discuss them with your fund lead directly through your message center.
