How do team member permissions impact email notifications?

Team member permissions determine the types of emails each member receives. While account owners and admins can make changes to the Team Members page at any time, some critical notifications – including capital calls, tax updates, and distribution notifications – are sent to all team members, regardless of permission level. Other notifications are sent based on specific permissions. Below is an overview of the common email types AngelList sends and the corresponding recipients:

Email Type Account Owner All Permissions (Admin) View Access Only
   Commitment confirmations
   All capital calls and reminders
   All tax-related and K-1 emails
   New financial reports published
   Cash distribution notifications
   Distribution election notices
   Pro-rata deal invites
Deal invites (via platform invite tool)
   New posts by fund leads
New messages in the message center

Permission levels available for Team Members on AngelList:

    • View all areas of your invest account
    • Add team members and assign roles
    • Set up bank accounts and transfer funds
    • Review deals and make investment decisions
    • Sign for investments on behalf of your entities

Please note: The “Sign for investments on behalf of your entities” permission is required to edit and update the tax information found here.
