How does the situation in Ukraine and Russia impact access to AngelList’s platform?
As a result of the Russia-Ukraine conflict, Russia is subject to a variety of U.S. and international sanctions. These laws apply to AngelList and its bank partners. To ensure compliance with these obligations, AngelList has implemented a number of policies and procedures related to its dealings with persons and entities residing in the region.
At this time, AngelList is unable to support transactions with persons or entities residing or ordinarily resident in Russia, Belarus, or the Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, Donetsk, Luhansk, and Crimea regions of Ukraine. Customers who formerly lived or worked in these regions may be subject to delayed onboarding and additional verification requirements by AngelList and its partner banks to validate the person’s actual country of residence. Among other things, these verification methods may include requests for additional documentation, such as utility bills, lease agreements, and bank statements. There are no guarantees that providing this additional information will result in a person being able to proceed with a transaction on the platform.
